Pick a color, any color.
Decorating with color can say a lot about us. Sometimes the color we wear are colors we feel most comfortable in and are the best colors to start with in decorating our homes. Are you a cool or warm color person?
Warm Color schemes can be reds, oranges, yellows, and pinks. Cool Color schemes can be blues, purples, and greens.
Neutral Color schemes are used to balance other colors. Neutral Color like browns, blacks and whites are a great way to start and then bring in your warm or cool colors to accent a room.
There are some great web sites to find your color personality. Once you find the color or colors that set your moods, you are off to a great start in decorating your home.
I am most comfortable with warm colors. Earth tones bring a warm feel to my home and then I will accent them with a more bold color to pop the room. You can bring that accent color in with a picture, pillows, a chair, or lamp. There are many great ideas to bring in an accent color.

Best way to pick paint colors, is to pick up some paint samples and try them on your walls. What might look good at the paint store, can change in your home depending on the lighting in your home.
